Summary
The story is happening in Strattenburg, USA during the most important trial in the history of the city. Theodore Boone, who is passionate about the justice system, would rather attend than be forced to go to school. The lawsuit involves Peter Duffy, who is accused of killing his wife. Is he dangerous criminal or innocent victim? It is expected that he will be acquitted for lack of evidence. Theodore, on the other hand, is proud of having been able to convince his civic education professor and the trial judge to be able to attend the first day. After this impressive experience, Theo regrets even more not to attend the trial. He thinks it's an injustice. He wants to know the outcome of this trial. Later, a student at the school, Julio, reveals to him that his cousin holds important evidence to prove Peter Duffy's guilt. He would have seen him enter the house where the victim was at the time of the murder and saw him placed something in the trash bucket. The problem is that the cousin, Bobby, is an illegal immigrant. He cannot testify without being arrested. Theo promises to tell nobody. However, he is tormented by his responsibility and time running out. Can Theo find a way to bring the killer to justice or will a guilty man get away with murder? He does not want to tell his parents lest they reveal everything. So, he talks to Ike, his uncle and try to get an advice from him. Meanwhile, Julio brings Theo golf gloves that the killer would have worn during the murder. Theo's uncle finally suggested that he must tell his parents everything. After a family reunion, the whole family agreed to tell the story to the judge and he agrees to give Bobby immunity. Theo is relieved of the burden on him. Since the state does not accept surprise witnesses, the judge is forced to announce a new trial. Theo is proud of him because justice triumphs.
Conclusion
This little Theodore is nice and great, we never tired of following and discovering his adventures. I think the story was catchy, with suspense, worry. I loved the fact that he knows the culprit but cannot denounce him. I really enjoyed reading books with him. Theodore’ solved the mystery and saved the day, but that doesn’t mean the action is over.
