Fair comment: a defense against libel that allows a reporter and other in journalism to express an opinion about a matter of public interest.
False light: invasion of privacy by showing or depicting the plaintiff in a false way that is highly offensive to a reasonable person
Defamation: unprotected expression that is publishing a false statement or a fact
Incitement: unprotected expression defined as speech that can incite a riot
Invasion of privacy law: legal protection of a picture or art
Libel: malicious defamation
Slander: malicious defamation made public through speech
Prior review: reference by court of law prohibiting any future news or comments of the case
Off-the-record: Messaging allows you to have private conversations over instant messaging
Gag Rule:
First Amendment- know the five freedoms protected, and recognize situations where the First Amendment does NOT provide legal protection of speech or expression.
Religion, freedom of speech, free press, right of peace and right of petition.
