Paris Hip Hop Festival

   The Paris Hip Hop project was created by Hip Hop citizens in 2005, he is proposing a symbolic and unifying event to French and International peoples until the 24 june to the 9 july.

A little bit of History

 Hip Hop citizens is an association who was created after the passage of Jean-Marie Le Pen at the second turn of the presidential election. The first action of the association was to getting together french artists to mobilize young peoples to vote.

From 2003 to 2005, the association have done field survey, bibliographic research and diagnostic about the relations between parisian local institutions and Hip Hop movement.

In June 2006, the festival begin his first edition in Ile-de-France to celebrate the different forms of the Hip hop and urban culture. At the program ; concert (only the 8 and 9 july), party, graffiti, dance, djing, conference, cinéma for 15 days of show and meet.

The city of Paris have decided to start this project with Hip hop citizens for the implementation of this first launch edition.

The aim of this project are :

• Promote the quality of the creation and the dynamism of Ile-de-France Hip Hop artists for a better appreciation of their actors et their culture.
• Re-establish the place of Paris in International Hip Hop
• Give an educational aspect to this event, wo will permit a large look on Hip hop culture.
• Highlight certain initiatives linked with Hip hop destined to your peoples.

The origins

 Paris is still one of the craddle of the hip hop birth, but the suburbs of the city took an important role in the emergence of a french hip hop culture. The incessant flow between Paris and his suburbs by the hip hop actors have developped urban culture and hip hop in Ile-de-France and everywhere France. These cultures have taken an importance not negligible in France because of the significance production, amateur and professional artistic initiatives and by the growing interest of the public.

Cut Killer, is the most emblematic french hip hop DJ, but also at the international, where he is one of the only french DJ who is estimated like twin by amrican's DJ. He has worked with the very best french rappers like Fabe, IAM, MC Solaar, Lunatic,...

Kool G Rap, at the end of the 80's and the begin of the 90's, he is one of the Queen's rappers who represented the golden age of hip hop. His rap style reflect the hardcore middle, the street and the mafia. He is considered like a founding father, because he has impose his style and he had influenced many rapper like Mobb deep, Nas, Biggie, Fat Joe, Big Pun,..
