Harassment of women in the world of work is something that happens still exists today. For a long time these harassments were not denouncing but today it is more and more frequent that this subject is approached. The hashtag #metoo allowed many women to denounce harassment. The New York Times newspaper has been interested in these women who are victims of harassment in the world of work and specifically that of economists. How this harassment is present in this environment ?
1) Women in the world of work
Female economists are victims of inequalities in their workplace in the face of men. A minority of women teach economics, about 10%. And in the economy as a whole women represent about 20%, which means that they are very little represented in this environment.
These women know many unwanted sexual advances from male economists .
at the top of the hierarchy of economists, women are poorly represented. Which means that they have difficulty to accessing it.
The A.E.A (American Economic Association) has permit to force Mr. Fruyer to resign from his position on the Executive Committee. M. Fruyer was accused of several abuses on women

But in recent years, many studies show that discrimination still exists at all levels of the profession. so with many movements and the word of women who are freeing more and more, these cases of abuse and harassment are exposed to the light of day
The association of economists approved in 2018 its first code of professional conduct. It wants to provide equal opportunities for all economists, women and men, and equal treatment.
