Part 1 - Jobs
1. Hélène needs to speak English with American or British groups and visitors. But also outside July and August, many tourist sites only purpose visits in French and English for many different nationalities. Lastly, she needs to speak English with these tourists during summer if they don’t have their own guide.
2. When she has already worked on the site, Hélène doesn’t have to make researches on the site itself but she will find out as much as she can on the group to be able to adapt the presentation. It will depend on the level of knowledge and interest of the group.
If she is not familiar with the site, she will prepare the presentation in many ways, exactly like she would in French. Firstly, she finds as much information as she can, preferably in English. Later, she eliminates and only keeps what she considers to be the most important. Then, she can make notes.
When she presents somewhere for the first time in English she practices her notes with friends.
Finally, if she needs to use new, technical terms she works on the pronunciation and asks British teachers for help.

3. Hélène gives five pieces of advice to anyone who has to make their first presentation in English:
1) To thoroughly prepare the presentation.
2) To not write down the whole presentation.
3) To not simply read the notes because it would sound unprofessional. 4) To keep the English simple and clear for non-native speakers.
5) To not use very technical and complicated vocabulary.
