I’m going to talking about the notion of power and more exactly political power which consists to show the African-American Recognition.
Despite all the hardships African Americans have had to face so far, they have never stopped struggling for their rights. In the 1960, African American artists and intellectuals went to fighting against discrimination and prejudices and several acts improved their situation whithout ever abolishing the existing inequalities and which is proved by the recent demonstration and riots after several young African Americans had been killed by the police.
To illustrate this notion i have chosen three document: The reportage of the movement “Black Lives Matter”, the Declaration of Independence and the Black Codes Mississippi.
The reportage to the movement of protestation called “black lives matter” His objective is to stop the police brutality and racial discrimination in mostly black neighborhoods. Black lives matter has been increasing its profil thanks to street protest and a strong social media campaign. They have start this movement following a series of deaths of African Americans.
The Declaration of Independence of July 4th written in 1776 say all men are created equal with unalienable rights. However in the Black Codes Mississippi in 1865 say freedman, free negro or mulatto can’t marry with any white person. Indeed it’s considered like a felony.
The Black codes mississippi is in contradiction with the declaration of independent because all are not equal if they have some laws for some person.
In United State of American the problems between blacks and white has long lasted. Indeed white people had power on blacks people, they had not the same rights that other and they were neglected. Moreover from 1619 to 1865, blacks People were forced to be slaves and white People used their skin color to denigrate them and exclude them from society.
I think in the 21st Century this racial discrimination has decreased. Indeed the racism and the narrow-mindedness have increased significantly especially with the new politics. With the former president Obama, the population was reconciled and all color people lived quietly. Now People go to the USA because it represents freedom and open-mindedness. The movement for “Black Lives Matter” denounces unfair violence. The living conditions of blacks were difficult due to this violence to them. Fortunately they managed to fight for their dignity. Later the media and demonstrations like speeches allowed to open their eyes to some people and change things.
However, there are still problems of racism against differences. Some people do not tolerate diversity which can lead to forms of discrimination or racism.
We should keep on mind that black people are not the only minority who
