We have chosen to present the American company Amazon to you, first we will see the structure of this company and then we will see its strengths, weaknesses, different threats and opportunities.

I – Structure

Amazon is an American multinational technology company based in Seattle, in Washington because technical talents such as Microsoft are located there. Jeff Bezos founded Amazon in July 1994(nineteen ninety four). Initially, the project was called Cadabra then the site was to be called Aard.com(dot com), a Dutch word that has the advantage of starting with the first letter of the alphabet.

The company started as an online marketplace for books but expanded to sell electronics, software, video games, apparel, furniture, food, toys. The strategy at the heart of the company’s development is the central place of the consumer. The idea is to allow consumers to find much more than they are looking for, attractive prices and a very large selection of products. The company focuses on e-commerce, cloud computing, digital streaming, and artificial intelligence.

The corporation started Amazon Web Services (AWS), which provided data on Web site popularity, Internet traffic patterns and other statistics for marketers and developers. Amazon distributes downloads and streaming of video, music, and audiobooks via its services, namely Prime Video, Amazon Music, Twitch, Alexa, Amazon Drive. In 2018(twenty eighteen), Bezos announced that its two-day delivery service, Amazon Prime, had surpassed 100 (one hundred) million subscribers worldwide. 

Amazon is considered one of the Big Five companies in the United States information technology industry, along with Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Facebook. It’s one of the well-known GAFA Amazon is the largest Internet company by revenue in the world with 280.522 (two hundred eighty thousand five hundred twenty two) billion dollars in 2019(twenty nineteen). It is the second largest private employer with one million employees in the United States and one of the world's most valuable companies.
