Presentation of the Internship and of the company :
- My Internship took place in a branding company called Kaunaz. This company is located in Ensenada in Mexico. The internship started the 08/05 and ends the 08/07.
- I got this Internship by finding their mail on Google.
- I choosed Mexico because when I was younger I travelled in Mexico for 6 months with my parents and I liked it especially Baja California so that's why I choosed this country
- Kaunaz is a small entreprise of Marketing / Branding , there is 11 employees plus 3 interns including myself. All of the employees are young ( 20 – 35 y.o)
- The atmosphere is pretty decontracted , everyone works at is own rhythm , the offices are Open Space offices. Dress code is very decontracted like if it's cold you can bring your blanket, even sometimes some employees come in pyjama.
The frequency of meeting is very regular , maybe 2 or 3 meetings a day.
- I worked in the production departement I was charged to find new client especially clients in US because the entreprise wants to start working internationnaly. Also I was working on their CRM software.
Ambience of work :
- Outside the work sphere we often go out with the employees , we were usually eating at the restaurant together all the time at the lunch break.
- Their was no taboo topics at work , everyone is very opened.
Outside of the work :
- For my accommodation I was in a departement that I found on AirBnB , the rent price was 1500€ for 2 months. The departement wasn't far away from my work so I bought an used bike for the 2 months.
Observations and advices :
- From a profesional point of view , what marked me the most is the atmosphere , everyone is smiling , decontracted . The only thing that was negative was the hours of work (9 a.m – 2 p.m then 3.5 pm to 6 p.m).
- From a personal point of view , there are a lot of things that are different than in France :
First concerning alimentation :
- The water the most selled is called Cien and the company who own the water is Coca Cola
- The quantity of liquid : Typically American , the water , milk , ice cream ect.. are in big quantities.
- Difficulty to find bread , the thing wich replace bread is tortilla.
- Very spicy food.
Security :
- The seat belt isn't mandatory for passengers , also some car don't have seat belt at the back
- The speed limits are very low but no one respects them.
- The houses are very protected for example on mine their was bars at windows and doors to prevent robbers.
- Not a lot of red lights at intersection but STOP ( ALTO) from all ways.
- The roads are in poor conditions
- People are afraid of cops and respect them
